Meet Bob: The Latest Soldier In The War Against YouTube Comments

If you’ve been reading YouTube comments lately, then there’s a good chance you already know Bob. And yet, Bob’s been fighting this sort of battle for a while now.

According to KnowYourMeme, Bob first began appearing on YouTube back in 2009 as a sort of spam/chainletter gimmick, accompanied by the catchphrase “This is Bob. Copy and Paste him so he can take over YouTube.” Though he never really took over YouTube back in the day, he achieved a level of popularity and even spawned a Facebook page. And now, like some stick figure Jesus, he’s back to punish the sinners.

Given a new line, Bob now wants to take over YouTube to return the old comment system. And now, he’s spreading in a way he never has before. Will he succeed this time? Can YouTubers take on the forces of Google and effect a change? Only Bob knows.
