The final days of 2013 are turning out to be sad ones for YouTube viewers. In addition to learning that Kingsley would be walking off into the YouTube sunset at the end of next year, Ray William Johnson announced yesterday on Twitter and Facebook that he would be retiring his long-running “Equals Three” show in 2014.
I figure I should retire the show while it’s still getting good numbers, as opposed to inadvertently running it into the ground.

Hate to be a downer, but it’s official: I’m retiring =3 at some point in 2014. Going to move fwd and focus on other aspects of my career.

The most popular show on his self-titled YouTube channel, “Equals Three” is Johnson’s bi-weekly show reviewing the newest viral videos and has over 76 collective million views in four years’ time.
Johnson fans can most likely look to more original series from Johnson’s production company Runaway Machine (formerly Runaway Planet), which produced the long-form sci-fi series “Riley Rewind” and debuted exclusively on Facebook earlier this month. As well, Johnson also received script commitment from TV channel FX in May on a comedic show based on his life.
