This in from our South American contingent: major Brazilian YouTube channel Canal Nostalgia is in danger of being shut down after Fox Broadcasting channel hit him with three strikes in a row over some “Simpsons” clips he used in the course of his culture commentary.
Canal Nostalgia, which has over 850,000 subscribers and is a major player on the Latin new media scene, grabs clips from all over the cultural landscape and either exposes it to his subscribers or basks in the glory of its fantasticness a la “The Simpsons.” And now he’s being punished for it.
This cannot stand! These companies are the old world and viciously clinging to old world ideals. Nintendo, Fox, the Ku Klux Klan — these companies hold to an antiquated style of thinking that we can’t support. No wonder Nintendo’s Wii U sales are in the toilet; they treat their customers like shit. Fox is going to learn the same lesson, and the Klan? Well, lets just say that if they continue to operate on a policy of racial intolerance, bigotry and hatred, well, there isn’t going to be a Klan. We need corporations that can accept the new method of doing business: 1. Put out a quality product, 2. Allow YouTubers to talk about it and show if off 3. Profit.
It’s not a mystery — when you abide by the changing rules of commerce, you succeed. When you stand fast — or worse, sue and punish your supporters, it’s not hard to see your days are numbered. Ask Kodak and Metallica about failing to change or punishing their fans.
Canal Nostalgia has signed up an emergency channel for if YouTube does pull the plug, and already his new channel has 160,000 subscribers. Ask Fox if 160,000 people are worth losing as customers. I hope, for their sake, they say no.

Dumb dude put the same video on YouTube twice. Put in the first place, get an strike. Uploaded again, got the second one.
He had another strike from Warner Bros. 3 strikes.
We know how old vision this companies can be, but if you already received a strike for a video, WHY in the name of god you upload a second time. Google rules are clear to everyone. If this guys don’t lose their channel, it will be so lucky that they should take more care in the future.
You’re in part right, buddy, but you cannot Strike a video that has trailers in it’s contents, after all, trailers and parts of the Series are made entirely to marketing, Got it?
#ForçaNostalgia estamos com vocês!
