‘Unlock the Space’: Video Shooting at YouTube Space LA Now Open To Channels With 10,000+ Subscribers

Perhaps taking a cue from the Affordable Health Care Act, the YouTube Space in L.A. just became accessible to everyone — well, just about everyone. If you have over 10,000 subscribers on your channel, there are no applications you have to fill out: “just sign up and get shooting” as they say. Of course, after that they then stipulate that you have to attend one of their intro classes, so apparently there is a hoop or two that you have to jump through before you can actually start shooting at the YouTube Space, but other than that it all seems pretty legit.

Check out the YouTube Space LA blog for full details, but signups happen on the second and fourth Monday of every month, and once you’re in, you can gain access to such badass extras as:

  • Access to Sound Stages & State-of-the-Art Equipment
  • Collaboration Production Programs & Pre-Built Sets
  • Advanced Education Offerings
  • Exclusive Events & Screenings

Pretty sweet, right? Plus you can connect with established YouTubers and pester them to put you in their videos (The Fine Brothers practically live at YouTube Space LA). Now the trick is you’ve just got to get 9,999 more subscribers and then you’re in.
