When researchers released a list of the most popular swear words on Twitter, for some reason my mind went to a magical place — a place chockablock full of majestically profane words I’d never heard before. I imagined nine words of such eye-popping vulgarity and complexity, that to see them would result in a shrieking, face-melting death a la those Nazis in “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” I imagined common swear words that had been picked apart and reassembled Frankenstein-like to create something hideous … but also beautiful. Like “Fcunckt” or “Twatweasel.”
Nope.
Boring old Twitter managed to underwhelm once again with a list of nine words that without proper visual accompaniment, are the verbal equivalent of when adults talk in a “Peanuts” cartoon. Fortunately, we’ve provided some interesting visuals to make the list crackle.
