Wait, so is Nintendo cool with creators and all the videos and YouTube stuff after all? Who the hell knows, really — I gave up on the subject a while back. All NMR knows is that, today, the Japanese video game company launched a new YouTube channel aimed at recruiting the little princesses of the world into the typically boys’ world of gaming. The channel even comes complete with its own little crown logo so that young female viewers are subtly reminded of what they should aspire to be when they grow up.
In the video below, Nintendo Girls Club host Jorgie Hynes and star of British soap “Hollyoaks,” recruits girl gamers into the world of “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” because it’s got, like, fashion and decorating and designing. And because you can even serve in-game male characters sammiches from the comfort of your own cute forest kitchen. And you never have to do icky math — ewwww!
So while we’re still not exactly sure what Nintendo thinks of “Let’s Play” videos, we now certainly know what they think about women — that they are beautiful and powerful and lovely. And remember, girls: Only YOU can save Princess Peach this time, and the new Super Mario game is out at a store near you now.
