YouTube networks are popping up for everything nowadays. There’s women’s networks, a sports network, an extreme sports network, music networks, food networks, animal networks … you get the idea. NMR is thinking about starting a network for networks, and here’s my step-by-step plan: 1. Sign up all the networks 2. skim a load of money off the top 3. become bajillionaires 4. not have to write about networks anymore. Ah yes, I just peed my pants a little — unfortunately it was the meds.
Anyhow, in today’s NMR new network news — or as I like to call it, NMRNNN — viral video management company Viral Spiral, video marketers Rightster and YAMA Talent, a yoga management agency, have teamed together to form a yoga and lifestyle network. I guess that makes sense.
The new network’s press release states that “the biggest names in yoga” such as Ekhart Yoga, Sadie Nardini, Meghan Currie and Patrick Beach will all be featured talents. I will of course take their word for it that these are the biggest names in yoga, as the one time I tried starting up yoga, I somehow ended up playing my PS3. Strange how that new age fitness works.
Charlie Muirhead, the founder and CEO of Righster, said: “Yoga is a booming industry and we are delighted to be involved with Digital Yoga Network powering some of the very best yoga channels on YouTube. Rightster’s technology and team of audience development experts take away the pain of SEO optimisation, rights management and reaching advertisers so that yoga video creators can focus on making videos and engaging their online communities. Together with Viral Spiral, YAMA and their network of talent we look forward to building a global niche audience of Yogis.”
And there you have it. Go on YouTube and have fun doing downward dog, mountain pose, and, uh, crouching tiger hidden dragon.
