Wouldn’t it be wonderful if this was how you got jobs in life? It wouldn’t be about money or connections or the school on your diploma, but experience culled from the stuff that mattered — like Pokémon.
It actually might just be that way after all.
As this awesome YouTube video explains, Google Maps and Pokémon have apparently teamed up to bring you the ultimate in job recruiting. The job title: Pokémon Master. How it works is simple: Starting today, Google Maps users with the most current update will see an option to click “Start Here” on their smartphone. Suddenly Pokémon characters will appear all over the globe. Your job? Find them all! All 150 Pokémon must be found by April 2, 2014 in order for you to qualify for the most awesome job at Google (next to CEO … or that diver guy’s gig). Those who find all the Pokémon will be invited for a special hiring session to begin working at Google on Sept. 1, 2014.
Now everyone is calling “prank” considering this promotion lasts exactly as long as April Fools Day does around the entire world (it’s already April 1 in, say, Australia). But NMR chooses not to believe that. We’re gunning for that Pokémon Master job, so if you want it, you’re going to have to work pretty fast. We’ve got over 15 so far … what’s that? You’ve got over 100?! Okay, well, I guess we’ll just quiet down and go back to running NMR then. Good luck in catching them all, PokéMasters!
