NMR might have had one of the finest nights of its relatively young life on Sunday night with the Oscars in full swing. Partnering up with the likes of BiteSizeTV, NMR descended upon the W Hotel in Hollywood under the pretenses of watching the Oscars. I don’t know about our guests, but NMR was way too busy taking advantage of decadent food, comped drinks, free massages, free oxygen treatments … oh, and a bevy of celebrity YouTube guests.
From the likes of Toby Turner to Bart Baker to the VSauce guys, Peter Hollens, Alex Farnham, Jack Vale, Olga Kay, Mike Diva, JacksFilms, Digital Corridor, Destorm and a whole bunch more, NMR had plenty of stars to chat up and bask in the glow of — especially after the oxygen mist facials. Hell, we didn’t find out who won the big awards until a blimp flying overhead let us know.
As the party raged on, we had some colorful moments with some colorful characters (business as usual with us), but Austin Null is certainly in the running for our favorite YouTuber of all time. He knows why.
All in all, as the moon hung bright over the rooftop of the W, and throngs of people waited down below to mingle with celebs at one of the hottest parties in L.A. (literally — we set up camp next to a trio of glassblowers who were kicking out instant art), it was clear: this is one of the coolest gigs in one of the coolest cities on Earth. If you weren’t there, work like hell on building up your YouTube channel and we’ll catch you on the next one.
Here are some other parties we’ve caused a scene at:
