May the 4th Be With You: YouTubers Team Up With LucasFilm For ‘Star Wars Day’ Videos

The internet is actively trying to make two new holidays “happen.” We’ve already celebrated majestic “Pi Day” (March 14 — if you can’t figure out why, I can’t help you) and soon enough we will be waving our lightsabers and dancing to the “Nub Nub” (I have a love/hate relationship with Wookieepedia) because “Star Wars Day” is shuttling towards us at lightspeed (May the 4th be with you!).

And since the internet is trying to do something cool, YouTube, naturally, has to go and jump into the center of it. Leading up to the 4th of May, four YouTube channels have gotten the nifty distinction of partnering with LucasFilm and YouTube Space LA to create awesome videos from the Mos Eisley Cantina (actually the Chalmun’s Spaceport Cantina — hell-fucking-oooo!).

The channels are YouTube Nation, CollegeHumor, BoredShortsTV and ApprenticeA and each one will be releasing a cantina-themed video in the days leading up to May 4. Naturally the videos were all shot at YouTube Space LA and should be a cornucopia of nerd-dom.

I don’t know about you, but I am setting my laser to “excited.”

We should make sharing this article an internet holiday. Cheers.
