Julie G. Talks Beauty TV Partnership, Her Dream Product, Advice for Beginning Beauty Gurus [INTERVIEW]

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m the kind of person who loves having a little extra help when it comes to perfecting and polishing my beauty routine. I am always looking for new tips and tricks to help me fool people into thinking I’m kind of decent looking.

And that’s exactly why I’m so dang excited about Beauty TV’s  totally revamped Beauty TV Minute show on YouTube, now hosted by bonafide beauty baller Julie G. With almost 500,000 subscribers and more than 118 million views across her channel, this girl definitely has a lock on all things pretty. She even has her own nail polish line!

As the new face of Beauty TV, Julie G. is here to address all your most pressing beauty-related quandaries. She covers everything from proper dry shampoo technique, to optimizing one’s look for a successful selfie sesh, to her own nightly skincare routine!

And because I’m the kind of girl whose only nightly routine consists of eating a sleeve of Thin Mints and washing my face with whatever hand soap I happen to find in the bathroom, I’m really looking forward to receiving some of Julie G’s guidance.

So if you really want to learn how to prettify yourself – and I know you do – check out this clip from Beauty TV and read NMR’s interview with Julie G. below!

So where did this love of all things beauty come from?  And what made you want to bring it to YouTube?

Julie G.: I’ve always loved everything related to beauty and how it can transform. I wanted to practice my makeup and decided to use YouTube as a way to track my progress without thinking anyone would ever watch. I slowly gained an audience and I became more and more involved in the beauty community. I saw this whole new side of the beauty industry that intrigued me and was able to connect with many other beauty addicts from around the world. Now with Beauty TV, I get to host a series of beauty-related topics that everyone can benefit from.

When you were first starting out all those years ago, did you have any idea you’d be where you are now?

I had no clue posting beauty videos on YouTube would bring me to this point in my life. It’s been an unexpected journey but it’s opened my mind up to so many different paths in the beauty industry.

What did it feel like to be approached for the collaboration with Beauty TV?

I was beyond excited to be approached with hosting Beauty TV mostly because it covers all the things I love! Makeup, hair, nails and skincare. Plus, I’m learning so much about beauty procedures and how it’s not all surgery and scary stuff.

Let’s talk about your nail polish line.  How did that opportunity come about?

My nail polish line was created by myself and the owner of Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics, Jesse Lawrence. We came up with the concept of creating a wide variety of colors where there is a shade for everyone ranging from brights to nudes to glitters and mattes. I also wanted it to be full coverage requiring only one coat.

As a huge fan of nail art myself, I have to tell you I LOVE your designs. Do you have an all-time favorite manicure that you’ve done?

I’m SO happy you’ve enjoyed my nail designs! I love the Princess Jasmine design, The Avengers and Breaking Bad nails.

Say for some horrible reason you’re only allowed to use one beauty product for the rest of your life and no others. Which product would you choose?

If I had to choose one product, I would choose concealer. I have terrible under eye circles and concealer works wonders with brightening my eyes and complexion.

Hark! A magical, miracle beauty product has just appeared on the market, and it totally solves your biggest hair or makeup problem!  What’s it called and what does it do?

I love this question, and the first thing that came to mind was lining up my winged liner. I adore winged liner, but it’s so difficult to make sure it’s perfectly lined up on both sides. It would be called “The Perfect Wing” and it would be some type of contraption that lines up with both eyes that makes the wings match up perfectly on both sides. That would be a pretty awesome in invention.

Last, but not least — any advice for fledgling beauty guru babies out there hoping to follow in your footsteps?

My best advice is to follow your natural instinct. It you have a true passion for it, do it. There’s nothing worse than a beauty guru who’s heart isn’t in it. If your heart is in it, everything else will flow naturally. Also, always watch what other makeup lovers like Beauty TV are doing for inspiration.
