The Janoskians, YouTube’s resident juvenile pranksters, have a freshly signed deal with Lionsgate for a feature film starring all five members of the Aussie band of misfits. Making their online debut in 2011 as a younger version of “Jackass,” they’re responsible for some of YouTube’s most cringe-worthy public pranks.
They’ve since grown a fanbase of over 2 million subscribers across their channels and over 8 million collective Twitter followers with their shenanigans. The group has even expanded their brand to a record deal with Republic Records, a “Dirty Pig” clothing line, a “Ouch! Couch” video game on iTunes and a sold-out worldwide Live Nation tour last year.
Word on the street is the movie’s plot will hinge on the Janoskians’ attempts to throw a huge party in L.A., wherein wild antics inevitably occur — think “Project X” meets “Jackass.”
Will you being running to the theatre to see what social depravities the Janoskians have in store?
