Mega photo agency Getty Images has caught the viral video bug, freshly penning a licensing deal with UK-based management company Viral Spiral. Specializing in the management and monetization of viral videos, Viral Spiral has acquired a network of thousands of online videos in categories such as comedy, animals, lifestyle, and sports.
This partnership gives Getty free reign to distribute Viral Spiral’s content to third-party licensees, which will inevitably boost licensing business for both parties. Viral Spiral’s Founder and CEO, Damian Collier, said in a press release: “We are excited, through this partnership, to be able to offer Getty Images’ customers the ability to license the hottest video content to be found online.”
