Canadian media firm Blue Ant Media is putting down roots in New York following its investment in Omnia Media. Omnia, a music and gaming-focused multi-channel network which includes a diverse roster of talent from gaming superstars like SeaNanners and the Syndicate Project to Romanian popstar Inna, received an investment from Blue Ant earlier this year. New the Toronto-based firm is opening a New York Sales office to support that investment.
To head up its new venture in New York, Blue Ant has tapped someone with plenty of YouTube experience. The company has hired Jason Cason, former head of partner development at Machinima, to to lead its US offices. According to a statement released by Blue Ant this morning the company will be looking to Cason’s experience working with brand integration at a gaming-focused MCN to help build and sustain new partnerships.
More money flowing into MCN land could be good news for YouTubers who have seen their network options shrinking due to a recent round of mergers and acquisitions.
