This is how advertising got created in the first place — there were lots of people selling things in the “oldy times” so someone came up with a novel approach to sell their products better. Perhaps we’ve entered a new age of advertising with this multifaceted campaign from an Australian digital production artist. Wanting to sell his shitty old 1999 Holden Barina, David Johns created a sleek campaign around purchasing it that includes the above video as well as a website and a trending hashtag: #BuyMyBarina.
While David admits he’s spent more on the campaign than the car is worth, it’s been a fun adventure for him and the coworkers who helped on the campaign. So far he’s seen a top offer of $1000, but he’s still weighing his options.
