The rest of American culture has been assimilating black culture’s style for years … but don’t think black people haven’t realized it … or aren’t sarcastic enough on Twitter. Today the shortblogging site blew up with tweets from black people who didn’t care for Vogue’s assertion that the big booty craze was jumpstarted by Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea’s new song “Booty.”
In awesomely sarcastic fashion, black Twitter users began dropping commentary all over Vogue’s Twitter account pointing out that they are well aware of the actual origins of oh so many “white trends.” Using the hashtag #VogueArticles, Twitter serves Vogue up with a healthy helping of “F**k you.” Here are some of the best tweets:
