Prayers For Shane: Viral ‘Bucket List Baby’ Passes Away

A tragic countdown of sorts began at 2:25 am this morning … and abruptly ended roughly four hours later.

Shane Michael, the so-called “Bucket List Baby” on Facebook was born this morning — and he didn’t get to live very long at all. Sometimes the world is just not fair.

See Shane was diagnosed with anencephaly — a condition causing him to develop without parts of his brain and skull — when his mother, Jenna Haley was just 13 weeks into term. And so as little Shane grew in her womb, Jenna and her husband Dan took to Facebook to create the “Prayers For Shane” Facebook page.

Since most diagnosed with anencephaly die shortly after birth, Shane’s parents comprised a bucket list for him to accomplish before he was born. And a little viral magic helped the couple accomplish all of it for Shane.
