Taylor Swift’s 1989 is already inspiring tons of covers, and will undoubtedly continue to do so until the world slips away into a dystopian society in which there is no music and/or no internet upon which to share cover videos.
Though “Out of the Woods” is not technically the second single off the new album, it was the second released, giving fans ample time to record their own versions of the catchy tune. And they have. Oh, they have.
But Chase Holfelder took a different approach than most. Dared by a friend to cover a song using only free iPad apps (and his voice, of course), he stepped up to the plate and gave us this clever rendition of 1989’s fourth track, proving (as YouTubers often do) that you don’t need a lot of fancy, expensive equipment to make a good, well-produced song.
