Cinematographer Danny Cooke had the rare opportunity to explore Chernobyl, and the nearby abandoned town of Pripyat.
Utilizing a Geiger Counter and a drone, Cooke captures beautifully haunting imagery of the overgrown city. Also, he captures rare images of the iconic Ferris Wheel located in the city center, floating the drone just above the cars stopped at the top.
You can almost imagine people gleefully laughing and pointing out of the car to the view around them.
Chernobyl and Pripyat are both highly radioactive to this day, long term visitation to the site is forbidden. However, short trips are allowed and for 15 euros, you get a guide and access to the site.
