Like some majestic fairytale told by your slightly Norwegian grandfather, this story of the European Space Agency’s bid to land a space shuttle on a comet is sweetly larger than life.
The story, called “Prepare for #CometLanding,” basically breaks hard science down into a digestible and whimsical adventure tale involving a satellite and a little space shuttle and their bid to become the first entity to attempt a soft landing on a moving comet.
It begins a little something like this …
After a ten-year journey, Rosetta and Philae had finally reached their destination, Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. Rosetta spent many weeks studying the comet, sending lots of information back to Earth. But where was Philae going to land?
Check out the video though — it will renew your excitement for the mysteries and fantasy of space.
