If you haven’t heard of Ebony Day yet, well, uh, actually I guess you just did. And it’s a good thing! Rejoice! Soon your ears will join you in your celebration, because heyo, this girl can sing.
Ebony has been posting videos to YouTube for the past five years, gaining a hefty fan base of almost 300k subscribers for her 125 main channel videos in the meantime. She’s also competed in The X Factor and won MTV’s Brand New poll in 2013 — an achievement previously bestowed upon acts including Justin Bieber and Conor Maynard. Not too shabby, eh?
Besides her music channel, Ebony also has a channel dedicated to traditional vlogging, which she has maintained for the past year and a half. And you know, she’s pretty good at that, too. So check ‘em both out. Start here(!):
This cheery cover of Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea’s “Problem.”
These uncomfortable prank calls in which Ebony only speaks in One Direction lyrics.
This acoustic rendition of the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
This video in which she tells her viewers facts about herself she’d rather us not know.
This cover of MAGIC!’s “Rude” that I personally like more than the original.
This music game with none other than the wonderful Pentatonix.
This sweet collab cover of Maroon 5’s “Payphone.”
