There’s a folksy legend attached to this video project that I’m pretty sure is ham-fisted bullshit. But I want to believe — and that’s the important thing.

Called Cousin Joe Twoshacks, this video project is a miasma of artists and animators working in tandem to each create a music video for the album “Rocks & Toads,” — allegedly Cousin Joe’s debut album. “12 animators, no rules” is the tagline for this YouTube undertaking on the JoeCartoondotcom channel — and considering that there is pixilated nudity, I’m pretty sure that was bullshit too. But this video stoked the odd bone in my body (mind out of the gutter, you!) and it should tap on yours equally well. Be sure to check out each project as it releases.

Check out this underrated bit of animation happenstance to marvel at all the different styles of animation contained within. You get just a taste of each … a little something to wet your beak.

And share this article because it answers the question: “What happened to all the animators when the Spike & Mike festival ended?”
