Marvel dropped the second trailer for “Avengers: Age of Ultron” today and naturally the internet is going nuts. The video has already shot to the number one spot on our YouTube Daily Top 20 and fans have begun dissecting every detail of the 1 minute 41 second clip looking for clues about the future of Earth’s mightiest heroes. Marvel fans are some of the most enthusiastic and inventive on the internet, and when it comes to YouTube that can only mean one thing: fan trailers. Marvelites anxiously await every update to the Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel, but in-between uploads they produce some of the most incredible fan trailers on the internet. Check out our list of the 7 most epic Avengers fan trailers:
Probably the most common method of making a fan trailer is to cut together footage from other films. This one goes the extra mile by adding some original voiceover work and reaching a little further than previous Marvel installments. They’ve pulled scenes from movies like Hackers and Terminator to create something even bigger and more fun.
No rundown of best fan trailers would be complete without at least one Lego trailer. The versatile building blocks have proven the perfect tool for recreating our favorite film scenes are trailers. This one by JimA73 matches the original so closely that I wouldn’t mind of the whole film was released in Lego-vision.
Marvels biggest marketing tool isn’t it’s trailer, it’s the massive wave of fan freak-outs that follow them. That’s why this medley of fans freaking out over the first Ultron trailer would have been an absolutely perfect second Ultron trailer.
The folks at How It Should Have Ended weren’t satisfied with where the trailer left things so they decided to amp up the fear factors by adding something truly terrifying… “Frozen” references.
We all know that what everyone is really waiting for is the final smack down between Marvel’s mightiest heroes and the evil AI Ultron. Well here it is, recreated in beautiful stop motion using one man’s impressive collection of Marvel action figures.
This shot for shot remake of the first “Age of Ultron” trailer by Dumb Drum is one of my personal favorites. I’ll never love anything as much as I love cardboard Hulkbuster Iron Man. Don’t let yourself be fooled, to paraphrase Dolly Parton, it takes a lot of work to look this cheap.
What can I say, I’m a sucker for the DIY Avengers aesthetic and no one does it like CineFix with their “Homemade Movies” series. I, for one, would be happy to watch this version for 3 ½ hours or however long this thing is going to be.
