Here on NMR’s Weekend Edition, we’re always looking for the weird stuff on the web. Maybe because it’s the weekend, maybe because we ate too much paint as a kid, but we like ODD. On Sundays, we dredge up the strange and amazing things that YouTube has to offer with our YouTube Treasure Hunter series. We highly recommend it if you like WEIRD nostalgia. On Saturdays, we focus on one of the best sites for weird content: Reddit.

Reddit is sort of a catchall of the web — all the world’s information, disinformation and cat pictures filter through there and users of the free site upvote or downvote the information based on how interesting they find it. This usually winds up in some pretty strange stuff being upvoted to the front page. But to get REALLY WEIRD you have to crawl down into one of the many subreddits out there — and there are thousands.

Like the Parisian catacombs, you can truly get lost in Reddit’s subterranean layers. That’s why, each Saturday, we’ve dedicated ourselves to presenting you with one unusual subreddit for you to explore at your leisure.

Caution: Some of the stuff found within might be VERY NSFW depending on the subreddit we explore. If it’s an entirely NSFW or nasty subreddit, we will warn you below.

Also, if you’re working today, you deserve to look at NSFW stuff!

Today’s Reddit Mystery Spot:

This is their watermark. Do not make the obvious pun here.

I’m Going to Hell For This is actually a great source of information for news, because people absolutely RUN to be the first one to post something offensive on this subreddit. For instance, the recent shooting of a French magazine staff was likely first posted to r/ImGoingToHellForThis long before it was posted to more genteel subreddit r/news. People like gallows humor and this subreddit delivers hard. Essentially it’s almost a parody of itself whenever it isn’t covering topical news because it mines the same “offensive” trenches over and over again (special needs people, minorities, fat women, etc.), sort of negating the offensiveness. Still, sometimes they knock one right out of the ballpark and you find yourself laughing at something you definitely shouldn’t. Yeah, if you go here, you are going to hell. But at least you’ll go laughing.

r/ImGoingToHellForThis information:

Totally riddled with NSFW: Mmhmm.
Violent, morbid or outright evil: Mmhmm.
Okay for kids: Only if those kids are already dead.
Started: ?
Number of members: 406,560,666

Friendliness of community: The people making these jokes aren’t exactly cool or judgmental, so as long as you aren’t here to try to force-censor or spread shame, you’ll be just fine.
Funniness of comments: How low can you go?
Sample post: What’s seven inches long and hasn’t been sucked in over two years? Whitney Houston’s crack pipe.

Subreddit’s best feature:

There’s something incredibly terrific about a site like this existing at all. This is like pure freedom — even if it’s effectively disguised as human cruelty. You can choose how far you want to dip your toes into the pool of offensive content; that isn’t something that should ever be censored. Even if you hate what this site displays or pokes fun of, you should absolutely be excited that it gets to exist. And the fact that their subreddit redirect right now is r/JoshuaAlcorn’sInsideOutP*nis is f**ked up — but I wouldn’t want to live in a world where someone couldn’t make that joke.
