The competition on Vine is insane because it appears so easy. Constantly upload funny clips that are only six seconds in length and you can become a new media star. Of course, funny is subjective and what might appear funny to Viners perhaps might not appear funny to others — say, the police for instance.

Delvon Irving, a Chicago-based rapper and viral prank star, found himself in cuffs after trashing a 7/11 and ransacking it. Naturally, he was caught because he decided it would be a good idea to upload the footage of said heist to YouTube, Facebook and Vine. Along with his other petty malfeasances.

Known online as VonMar, Irving was arrested after police tracked the Jackass wannabe when he posted footage of himself riding in taxis after fleeing the scene with a stolen coffee urn. The vid has already garnered 5 million views, which should be enough to pay his bail. So he’s got that going for him, which is nice.
