This is why we can’t have nice things.
Vimeo, despite making it a staff’s pick, has taken down Adi Shankar produced and Joseph Kahn directed POWER/RANGERS, a gritty reboot of the children’s program as part of Shankar’s continuing “bootleg” series.
It’s a fair assumption to make that Saban Entertainment is the likely culprit. Particularly when you consider director Kahn’s response:
Saban is trying to shut POWER/RANGERS down. If you'd like to keep watching, tell them to stop harassing me http://t.co/Gb3KfwMbAX

Furthermore, it appears that Kahn’s response to the Vimeo takedown is to point to the YouTube video, presumably under the belief that YouTube may fair better at telling Saban to buzz off. Particularly when one considers that the fan film has made no money, was paid for out of pocket, and the video itself is not monetized.
Y'all better watch the shit out of POWER/RANGERS. No idea how long it'll be up. Going to bed. Goodnight. https://t.co/PMbHwGD3ix

The YouTube video has so far racked up over 700,000 views in less than 18 hours.
Since it is a fan film they should leave it alone. They don’t attack other mmpr fan films; this one has some quality production value so that’s why they are going after it.
