Here on NMR’s Weekend Edition, we’re always looking for the weird stuff on the web — and on Saturdays, we like to focus on one of the best sites for weird content: Reddit.

Reddit is sort of a catchall of the web — all the world’s information, disinformation and cat pictures filter through there and users of the free site upvote or downvote the information based on how interesting they find it. This usually winds up in some pretty strange stuff being upvoted to the front page. But to get REALLY WEIRD you have to crawl down into one of the thousands of subreddits out there.

(Caution: Some of the stuff found within might be VERY NSFW depending on the subreddit we explore. If it’s an entirely NSFW or nasty subreddit, we will warn you below.)

Today’s Reddit Mystery Spot:

                                       r/SubredditDrama

This is the Reddit maelstrom — a maelstrom is a whirlpool only bigger. A maelstrom sucks people, ships, animals everything down into its depths. Basically, it’s like a Black Hole for the ocean. R/SubredditDrama is where fights and issues are posted from other subreddits so people in this forum can fight about them. It’s like gladiatorial combat for anonymous internet alpha-types. Frankly, it can get a little taxing on your self esteem and hope for mankind — but at the same time, it’s f**king delicious and delightful. If you want the drama and theatrics of a courtroom, but all the lawyers, jury, judges and involved people are neckbeards and whatever the female version of neckbeards are, this subreddit has your name written on its legal sheet. Get sworn into the jury pool, post haste. And of course, remember to bring your popcorn.

r/SuredditDrama information:

Totally riddled with NSFW: It can be depending on the topic. But more dirty text than naughty pics. It will be fine if you’re at work — just don’t read posts aloud.
Violent, morbid or outright evil: Just a lot of depressing anger and negativity here. That might be a version of outright evil.
Okay for kids: Nah, not really a kid’s thing. Send ’em over to r/Barney instead.
Started: 2011
Number of members: 159,275 dramanauts
Is it active: Too active to be healthy, probably
Friendliness of community: Sniping and sharks everywhere (and not cute Tusundre Sharks either) — posting comments here isn’t for amateurs. But that doesn’t stop the ignorant.
Funniness of comments: Vitriol is the name of this game.

Subreddit’s best feature:

The subbreddit’s “munching popcorn” salvo has it right. All you can really do most of the time is shake your head in amazement. This subreddit is like being stuck on a bus between two loud and opinionated New Yorkers who can’t agree on anything. If that sounds like fun, that’s its best feature.
