As reporters/journalists/chroniclers of all things “new media,” NMR is often people’s source for questions, such as: “What the hell happened to the ‘diarrhea jacuzzi girl’?” Frequently, there aren’t any answers because they dropped offline and stopped making/showing up in videos. But these people/animals/objects are an important part of the culture. And so, as often as we can, we track them down so that you can get some closure in your life. Join us as we search for answers in our recurring weekend feature “What the Hell Happened To __________________?”

This week, we find out what the hell happened to The ‘Wedding Entrance Dance’ Couple:

Valentine’s Day means I should try to do something nice for you devoted weekend readers. And so instead of burning you with tales of malevolence and Grape Stomp women, I thought I’d solve the mystery of what happened to the couple who arranged the world’s most famous wedding entry. Featuring Chris Brown’s “Forever,” this couple, Jill Peterson and Kevin Heinz, organized their legion of bridesmaids and groomsmen to go dancing down the church aisles. Needless to say, it went SUPERVIRAL, and now stands at 88 million views (and counting).

The couple even did an interview on The Today Show (you know, the one that features my homey Al Roker) back in 2009 when this all went down.

So did they take the 15 minutes and run with it? Did they try their hand at YouTube celebrity only to get crushed by the weight of their initial video? Did they even stay married? That’s why “What The Hell Happened To …” is here — to answer those very questions, so you don’t have to move your fingers even a little bit.

Well, the channel that posted the infamous video was TheKHeinz’s channel, with TheKHeinz likely being a nickname that Kevin Heinz’s friends gave him (or he tragically gave himself). There are only two videos on it: the wedding video, officially titled “JK Wedding Entrance Dance” and another video, posted a year later that shows kind of a generic “making of” video that purports to show how the wedding entrance dance came together. It has 130,000 views or so, so clearly people are interested in the Heinz’ and what’s become of them.

Well, as it turns out, whereas some people fall off the map completely and some die in horrible fires, Jill and Kevin went on to be completely normal, well-adjusted people. Here’s an update they posted to their website:

Well, some are hard to track down, some are easy to track down. Gotta love the mysteries of the internet.

Oh, and in case some of you were fussy that they had a Chris Brown song and Chris Brown is an evil woman-beater, that viral wedding video of theirs now carries this inspiring opportunity:
