It’s always tragic when we lose a promising young YouTube creator too soon. It’s even more difficult when their passing is directly linked to their YouTube career. Personal trainer Travis Williams, better known online as Achilles, paid the ultimate price for his video-making craft when he was struck and killed by a train while filming. According to witnesses, the aspiring fitness guru was being filmed jumping rope next to train tracks in his native Atlanta. Though not standing directly on the tracks, Williams apparently misjudged the width of an oncoming freight train and failed to avoid impact upon realizing his mistake.
A career personal trainer and popular Instagram personality, Williams had only launched his YouTube career in January when he began posting a series of instructional fitness videos. Williams was apparently filming a new installment of the series when he was killed. Friends and fans remembered Williams on social media with #RIPAchilles. Many fans remembered Williams as a source of motivation and inspiration.

A GoFundMe campaign established to help with funeral expenses has already received more than $20,000 in donations. Additional funds will be used to support Williams’ young daughter and a charitable foundation he established.
