According to Brian Robbins, the answer to the future of YouTube is long form content. And he’s gonna deliver it — starring his roster of young talent. AwesomenessTV has teamed with YouTube to create original movies for the platform in the style of Expelled (hopefully with less baffling plot holes though). By releasing the content through YouTube, Robbins looks to give back to the company that has made his collected bunch of creators online stars.
“We work with amazing creators to make great short form content on YouTube every day,” said Robbins, the CEO and Founder AwesomenessTV. “We think the platform is really ready for long form, so now we will make movies that will star YouTubers and premiere on YouTube. We will turn YouTube stars into movie stars.”
While none of the films have been revealed yet, the goal is for them to use the marketing push of the performers own channels to create demand for the flicks. But if this works out, the future will be pretty limitless for creators like JennXPenn, Lia Marie Johnson and the Janoskians.
