There comes a time in every young social media service’s life where they suddenly go, “Holy shit, we have to figure out how to make money.” Most of them do it by selling out to Facebook or Twitter, but for those other scant few, suddenly advertising, subscriptions or hairbrained schemes come into play.
Since they already launched a “premium service” recently, Tinder has now gone for round two: advertising.
And surprisingly, their first video ad, which dropped yesterday, features a Bud Light couple trying to rally support for that new “new town” of theirs. Apparently Axe Body Spray whiffed here, as Tinder and Axe belong together.
“We’re thrilled to work with Bud Light as we introduce opportunities for brands to connect with our global community,” Alexis Ginas, Tinder’s head of global brand solutions, said in a statement. “The Bud Light campaign is a unique and fun experience for Tinder users that fits seamlessly into the platform.”
If you’re on Tinder and eager to see the ad for yourself, just swipe through about five Tinder dorks and it will appear, genie-like, to rescue you.
