Kin Community, one of the fastest growing MCNs, specializes the baking and DIY YouTube genres, so it only makes sense that they’d team up with craft food company Wilton Brands to form a unique program they call Makers & Bakers.

Officially unveiling the program at VidCon, YouTube stars Jenn Johns of the Cookies, Cupcakes and Cardio channel, Ann reardon of How to Cook That and DIY vlogger Melanie Ham have been selected to be the spokespeople for the year-long initiative. And of course, if it works out well, it could certainly run a whole lot longer.

According to the release, here’s how the Makers & Bakers program works:

  • Selected creators produced exclusive Makers & Bakers videos that were distributed across YouTube and other social platforms in the weeks prior to VidCon. Each exclusive video teaches fans how to create unique baking and DIY creations utilizing Wilton and Simplicity products.
  • At the Makers & Bakers booth at VidCon, Ann, Jenn and Melanie will be making personal appearances and giving away Makers & Bakers “goody bags” to the first 50 fans. Goody bags will feature the products used in their exclusive videos.
  • Throughout the year new creators will be selected to produce exclusive videos and other activations associated with the program. Creators at VidCon can sign up for the program at the Makers & Bakers booth provided they have 20k subscribers. Selected creators will receive monthly samples, invitations to special events, educational tips and more.

Not bad, right? Here’s a good quote from an upper level management type to frame the whole partnership up nicely:

“Makers & Bakers has enabled Kin to create powerful and authentic content, while empowering creators to do what they love,” says Beth Le Manach, VP, Programming and Co-Head of Kin Studios. “Creating this connection with Wilton and creators like Ann, Jenn and Melanie gives fans an opportunity to learn about new products and techniques from their favorite makers and bakers.”

So if you’re interested in running a better cooking channel or you simply love to cook, be sure to stop by the Makers & Bakers booth for more details! And bring us a cookie, wouldja?
