In the early hours of August 26th, 2015, (so, midnight), a loud boom was heard in Marina Del Rey, CA. Then another loud boom. And another loud boom. These booms were heard across the westside of Los Angeles, including neighborhoods such as Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Venice, Santa Monica and even West LA. Many hearing the booms, which continued for several minutes, had no clue what it was. Some thought bombs were being dropped in their neighborhood. Others thought they were hearing gunshots. This guy goes as far as to assume nuclear war!
Currently in Santa Monica, either: A) Tuesday fireworks B) Weird thunder C) Nuclear war Anyone?

Thankfully, it was not nuclear war. But instead a Kardashian throwing a yacht party for NBA player James Harden. Yes, Khloe Kardashian woke up thousands of Angelenos so her party could view a loud, 10-minute firework show.
Crazy fireworks in #MDR right now – like nuts- anyone know who / what / why? #MarinaDelRey #PlayaDelRey pic.twitter.com/VZ6bGNlB1t

This didn’t blow over too well. As people do in this day and age, the angry, sleep-deprived Angelenos took to Twitter. Shocker: no one is happy.
WHO THE HELL IS SHOOTING FIRE WORKS IN MARINA DEL REY AT THIS HOUR!?!

Fireworks going off in Marina Del Rey/Venice. People upset/awestruck. Reason? Kardashians throwing a yacht party for James Harden. #SoLA

I take that back. A few people were happy. The people attending the party. I’m assuming Kylie Jenner was happy, as these videos of the fireworks and the party were taken from her Snapchat.

Regardless of the fun one yacht was having, thousands of Angelenos were very, very upset. Thankfully, all the angry tweets didn’t go unnoticed. They attracted the attention of Mike Bonin, Councilman for the City of LA. Following the event, he acted as LA’s guardian angel and stepped in to put an end to this Kardashian madness.
Disruptive celeb firework show that woke up thousands was NOT permitted by city or county. Checking if US Coast Guard did it. #stupidrude

This ridiculous event begs the question: can celebrities do whatever they want? Even at the cost of disrupting thousands of people’s sleep? It’s nice the city is stepping in now, because who knows what could be next…
Share this because we must put an end to the Kardashian madness!
