Mad Max might well be the sickest game of the year as far as we’re concerned. Killer gameplay and post-apocalyptic story team up for explosions and malevolence to titillate us in a way we haven’t seen since … I don’t know, Metal Gear … speaking of which, Mad Max and the newest iteration of Metal Gear are going head to head when they both release on Sept. 1, so it should be interesting to see how the dollars get spent. Of course, we’re cracking our piggybank for Mad Max (and the Blu-ray which comes out the same day, ahhh!).
The game, which is based on the movie of the same name, has an interactive trailer allowing you to check out different facets of the action. See things from a distance, up close or right from the driver’s seat as you ran cars and take down a doomsday cult in the Australian Outback. Frankly, it’s just as this sort of game ought to be. These days, everyone has to have a sick gameplay trailer and Mad Max delivers here.
Avalanche Studios, the company responsible for the release promises that the game will be, um, more mature than other games they’ve developed. We like the sound of that!
