One more mainstream celeb is going to test his popularity on YouTube — except this one has a high chance of succeeding (yeah, that’s the one we went with, ugh).
Tommy Chong, one half of the legendary stoner duo Cheech & Chong, who rose to prominence in the ’70s with a hit comedy career that featured albums and movies, is now looking to add social media celeb to his distinguished resume. Also on the list: High Times’ Stoner of the Year and ex-con as well as series regular on That 70’s Show after you stopped watching.
The stoner, who is actually in his 70’s now and getting treatment for rectal cancer, has said that he intends to launch a — wait for it — pot talk show. Take note other marijuana channels of YouTube!
“It’s a stoner’s version of Jon Stewart,” he tells Page 6, and plans to discuss “anything that affects the pot smoker’s status in any way, negative or positive.”
The show is called Almost Legal and should be clouding up your brainwaves sometime this fall.
Right now there’s a pretty long list of forgotten channels created by mainstream celebrities who claimed they were gonna conquer YouTube and then got bored. We’ll see if Chong can stay the pace.
Share this to see if Chong can smoke the competition. Better!
