A teary-eyed and emotional Meghan Tonjes took to YouTube today, explaining how being an overweight person has impacted her life and how skinny people maybe don’t understand the negativity and wrath that affects people who are fat:
Meghan says she doesn’t want to get into fight with Nicole Arbour over a video she dropped earlier this morning, lampooning the obese, called “Dear Fat People.”
She does say that making fun of fat people for being fat these days is “lazy comedy,” and she’s not wrong. Body Image issues have become a major talking point as we struggle to decide what is acceptable social commentary and what is bullying.
Hell, Tonjes has even reamed me over my stance on a similar issue because it is a cause that is close to her heart.
Of course, we’re not here to say one side or the other is right or wrong. We’re mostly just here to say “this happened, make up your own mind on the matter.”
Nobody should ever be made to feel so bad watching YouTube videos that they end up crying (and not in one of those touching ways — in one of those “You hurt me to the core” ways).
