Joe Naufahu (Spartacus: War of the Damned) will play Khal Jhago. Unless we are thrown a curve ball the most likely way this character will be introduced is that Dany will be brought before him following her capture by the Khalassar in the Season 5 finale, “Mother’s Mercy.” What will become of her there remains to be seen.
Young Ned Stark
Sebastian Croft has been cast as a young Ned Stark. All we really know is we will see a young Ned sparring with an older boy, possibly Robert Baratheon to show their relationship before going into a full on R+L=J reveal. Or they could use him for one of Bran’s green sight visions or just go completely off book to mess with us.
At any rate, we get Ned back, if only for an instant!
We don’t know who Ian McShane (Deadwood) will play on Game of Thrones. He could be a villain; we saw him in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as Capt. Blackbeard, and on American Horror Story: Asylum as a killer Santa Claus. But the prevailing theory is that he will play Ser Arthur Dayne.
HBO hasn’t officially announced this character is coming but they were looking for a legendary fighter which fits the description of Dayne, a Kings Guard who was part of the small company defending the Tower of Joy from Ned Stark and those with him. If Ian McShane is Dayne, then it means they are filming the Tower of Joy scene and that R+L=J is true. There really isn’t any other reason to show him.
The Theatre Troupe
We have a few actors cast as part of a theatre troupe (Richard E. Grant, Essie Davis) who will probably meet up with the blinded Arya in Braavos. They probably won’t be a huge part of the plot of season 6, but Arya needs to get her sight back and probably redeem herself in the eyes of the faceless god. Plus, what better way to learn how to not be yourself than by hanging out with some thespians? They might not move the world, but they could be big for Arya’s next chapter.
Unless Geore R.R. Martin gets The Winds of Winter out soon the show will completely surpass the books next season. Several plotlines already have. What comes next? Book readers no longer know. However, the new characters can give us a few hints along with the remaining material left un-adapted and the sample chapters of The Winds of Winter. We will keep you updated on new cast members coming to the World of Ice and Fire.
