They’re as giddy as we are, and it’s hilarious and adorable.
Very, very (very) few people had seen the new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens before last night, and that number includes the film’s stars John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.
Have I seen the trailer ? No! En route home from lakers game. It deserves a BIG screen

Thankfully, the internet is a wonderful place, and both actors posted their reaction to the trailer online. It’s pretty spectacular.
It has to be a surreal experience seeing footage of yourself for the first time, and it’s fun to see that these rising stars are as excited for the movie as the rest of us. Boyega and Ridley both came into The Force Awakens as relative unknowns; Boyega had been in only a handful of feature projects, including a leading role in Attack the Block, and Ridley’s professional experience spanned nothing more than a few TV appearances.
The decision to cast both actually continues a Star Wars trend of casting relative unknowns. In the original Star Wars, it might have been for budgetary reasons as much as anything else, but at the time George Lucas also expressed an interest in casting actors who would be seen as their characters, rather than famous faces playing a role. (The exceptions of Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing aside.)
