The Walking Dead Episode Breakdown – Season 6 Episode 3 “Thank You”

Take a Seat, Heath

My default expression is skepticism

I have concerns

We first met Heath (another important comics character) in the season premiere when he returned from a run to discover that Alexandria had a new sheriff and crew in town. He’s been fairly quiet, but also observant and capable. Despite having very little dialogue, Heath has already established himself as a character that audiences are going to want to keep an eye on. The question is, will Heath be a friend or foe to Rick this season?

Heath does not like Rick’s management style, and he throws attitude at Michonne (bad idea, bro) when two of his run buddies (sprained ankle lady and gunshot guy) both ask to be left behind so as not to further slow down the fast dwindling number of survivors. Heath clearly is a big fan of The Three Musketeers (but not that horrible Leonardo DiCaprio movie from the 90s) and is not down to leave anyone behind, because that’s not how things are done

Michonne puts him in his place (she’s not going to leave anyone behind unless it is absolutely necessary), but Heath gets a little karmic “I told you so” when he emerges alive and covered in blood, surviving his first real taste of what happens “outside” according to Michonne. Will this brush with death make Heath begin to understand where Rick is coming from and become more of a hardened realist, or will this reinforce his belief in trying to save everyone which will put him firmly on Morgan’s side of the argument?
