Could NASA have timed their announcement any worse?
Ridley Scott must’ve felt like NASA was out to get him a little bit. Just a week before his sci-fi survival adventure The Martian was due in theaters, NASA made one of its biggest announcements ever: There’s liquid water on Mars. Right now.
When you’re making a movie about a man trying to survive on Mars, the presence of water is a game changer. So what would Scott change about the movie? Turns out, not a lot.
“It would have been a pity to have lost the scene where he blows himself up.” Real sympathetic, Mr. Scott.
(Although true.)
