Complete with touchscreen controls.
Minecraft has been a long desire for Wii U fans, and sadly for them, all they have are cheap knockoffs that certainly don’t do Mojang’s creative simulator any favors. Xbox, Playstation, iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac are all capable of playing this beloved game, so why shouldn’t the Wii U finally get its turn?
Well after years of hoping and dreaming, that’s what we could finally get. This information comes from the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) page. Whether they intended it or not, a listing popped up for Minecraft: Wii U Edition and they have rated it for ages 7 and up. The more interesting snippet of information is that the game is also listed to release on November 12, which is, you guessed it, today!
Well, it hasn’t shown up yet, so when’s that going to happen?
Back in 2013, Notch (creator of Minecraft himself) stated that there were no plans to release his game on the Wii U, but this was announced before the company was sold to Microsoft. One of the things Microsoft does best is releasing their content on multiple platforms so that they have holds on all corners of the market, and Minecraft would be a perfect fit, considering that it’s one of the top-selling games of all time. A lot can change in just two years.
Minecraft will certainly be a welcome and worthy addition to the Wii U’s lineup, and could arguably make excellent use of the gamepad’s touchscreen.
