Episode Recaps & Analysis

Episode 1 “AKA Ladies Night”

The Three Biggest Takeaways from the Series Premiere

This was pretty much a perfect pilot, even if you didn’t know anything at all about Jessica Jones before watching. First, the episode works a contained story: We see Jessica set up as a careless but effective PI, she takes on a new case that pulls her into trauma she’d rather avoid, she spends time trying to avoid what needs to be done, but eventually chooses to get into the middle of a kidnapping, and her heroics bring about a happy ending…almost.

Episode 2 “AKA Crush Syndrome”

The Top 6 Most Awesome Moments from Jessica Jones Episode 2

#6 – Luke Cage takes a buzzsaw to his stomach.
We’ll get to the bar fight and the broken glass later, but let’s start where the episode ends. Jessica’s still trying to play off that she doesn’t have superpowers, and Luke Cage is just like, “Nope. Episode 3 “AKA It’s Called Whiskey”

Kilgrave Blinks First

There are several cool things going in in Jessica Jones Episode 3 that might have been worth talking about in this recap if not for the final 15 minutes of the episode.

Episode 4 “AKA 99 Friends”

The top 4 Plotlines to Keep an Eye On

After last episode’s adrenaline rush, episode 4 is taking a step back into detective mode. That’s arguably where the show shines the most – I certainly enjoy the moments when Jessica is actually showing off as a private eye. It’s a very human component to a show about superpeople.

Episode 5 “AKA The Sandwich Saved Me”

3 Most Important Parts of the Episode

Jessica’s origin story as Jewel was retold this episode in pitch-perfect fashion, and it was easily the #1 most important part of the episode, for several reasons.
