TEAM CAPTAIN AMERICA WINS?
So there you have it! While Team Iron Man has the heaviest hitters (Iron Man, War Machine & the Vision), Team Captain America simply has more combatants.
That said, if you subtract Agent 13 and the Falcon’s Redwing drone from the equation, the numbers suddenly look more like Team Iron Man 148, Team Captain America 140. So it could lean the other way in a heartbeat.
But what about the mystery challenger everyone’s been dying to see?
YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD GAME-CHANGER
That’s right, Spider-Man’s in Civil War. And while we think he’ll start out on Team Iron Man, the comics suggest that he’ll jump ship. So what does he bring to the table?
Intelligence: 4. Peter Parker, the Spectacular high school science nerd.
Strength: 5. Amazing Spider-Strength!
Speed: 5. Superior Spider-Muscles & web-slinging
Durability: 3. Spandex doesn’t protect against squat. Astonishing.
Energy Projection: 2. Web of Spider-Man
Fighting Skills: 3. Spidey’s not a trained fighter, but he does sensationally flail around like a boss.
Powers/Weapons: Enhanced strength, speed, and agility. Wrist-mounted web-shooters with a range of applications. Spider-Man has the ability to climb on walls, and has a “Spider-Sense” which warns him of impending danger. This merits 3 extra points.
THE SWING SOLDIER
Even with the original numbers, Spider-Man’s presence on either side could shift the tides of war. On Team Iron Man, he’d bring the score to 173 vs. 169. On Team Captain America, he’d bump the score to 194 vs. 148.
So what does that mean?
It’s anyone’s game!
